SUMMIT - 2015
My experience
If there was a pivotal moment in my life where I could say, “This is the moment that I found my passion and saw true potential in myself” --- I would have to say it happened at Summit.
Imagine starting a new job that you’re super excited for. You are three months into the job and you are watching all of your coworkers and new friends get ready to head out to the BIG yearly company conference at some amazing location. As you hear their excitement you big to dream of the day when YOU to might have a chance to go! IT was right at this moment that I learnt that I HAD EARNED my ticket to the following year’s Summit event in NASHVILLE.
I spent the rest of the year WORKING hard to help others earn the exact same opportunity. I wanted so badly to give others the opportunity to come along with me and share in the excitement of helping others, growing as people and being surrounded by positive, influential people. As Summit approached and THREE of us would be heading to Nashville together I began to day dream of what it would be like. “Would I get to see this coach?” “Would I meet Shaun T?” Would I be able to share my gratitude with the CEO Carl?”
When the day finally arrived I got on my first flight from Regina to Toronto. I looked around the plane with excitement wondering if there were any other coaches on the plane too. I arrived in Toronto and quickly found myself SURROUNDED by hundreds of coaches all pushing through to international flights. The line BUZZED with chatter and exciting hugs as people began to introduce themselves and share their journey’s with one another! I KNEW at this moment that I was about to have an experience I WOULD never forget.
As we worked our way into Nashville the amount of coaches popping up all over the airport and the city was absolutely mind BLOWING. Everywhere I looked there was a coach working out, a coach hugging other coaches, coaches sitting and sharing stories, coaches meeting for the first time AND me --- a new coach just TAKING it in. There were moments as we walked down Broadway for the first time that I felt as though I was in a DREAM. Imagine seeing all of these people that you FOLLOWED on social media or talked to through zoom calls for a YEAR --- and now they are just around you simultaneously living alongside you. It was surreal.
For the next three days I was surrounded by the ladies and gentlemen of the Bombshell Dynasty. We sent ALL day and all evening laughing, celebrating, and learning. We listened to incredible speakers talk about the power of perspective, the power of your story, the power of social media and SO much more. I spent the ENTIRE day feeling as though MY LIFE was coming together before my eyes. My purpose in life was FULLY emerging and I was SO READ to welcome it! I can remember sitting listening to the presentation by Dewitt Jones and thinking – HOW many times did I pass by an opportunity that could have been life changing. HOW many times did I CHOOSE not to notice the incredible moments that were unfolding around me. HOW many times did I have a gift to offer others but instead stayed greedy and didn’t share it. ----- It was this moment where I realized that EACH of us is blessed to be alive. We are all capable of greatness but sometimes we just forget to give it time or rush by without taking a second look. THIS was the moment where I realized that each person I meet is a special opportunity for our lives to grow and change. I walked away from that presentation with a WHOLE new outlook on life.
At the end of the week I sat back and looked at Nashville --- it is hard to imagine that at ONE time 26,000 people came together filled with passion, hearts full of love, and positivity. They came together as one to learn, share and experience life together. I will never forget working out as ONE body of people on the streets on Nashville, or partying at the Success Club Party in the Hall of Fame Park. There are moments that will stick with me for the rest of my life. AND there are moments that have helped my take my passion and put it into HIGH GEAR.
THIS year is one of those years full of unstoppable momentum of helping others start their journey and become a coach so they TOO can help people
